Listen To Your Body

I see many clients coming through AustinDEEP with an array of aches and pains. For the most part it is a typical day in the office, except for one thing I have been noticing all too often. We are not really listening to what’s going on in our bodies. We wait until the pain goes from a 5 to a 10 . Why do we wait until it gets really annoying? Or why do we have this tough guy  mentality  ”train through the pain it will only make you stronger “. Uhh no señor, I don’t think so.
Rule of thumb: If you are running, lifting weights, or doing any physical activity and experience shooting pain in your legs, neck, low, etc…. Stop.
Do not push through, walk and catch your breath. Try to feel where the hurt is with your hands and massage the area with some bio freeze. I will normally alternate ice and heat to reduce inflammation in the muscle.

I  believe that our bodies tell us long before pain sets in that something is about to give .
The message here is to listen to  your body when it is signaling a red flag. Take days off to see if the pain subsides.

If you’re still experiencing acute pain after a couple of days, here are my #1 top favs.
