Barb’s Race 7/31
I decided on Mother’s day to sign up for a Half-Ironman in Napa,CA. What an awesome gift I thought, and it’s THE only woman’s half-ironman course. Most people think I am crazy, but if you are going to reach then reach big!
I am very grateful for my husband John who said if you are going to do this crazy thing on such SHORT notice you need the best coach to train you~ Zane Castro. It was relief when he said he would help me reach my goal.
I am competitive by nature so of course I want to go and finish top 10 right? Ayy yaya! Zane said he would train me under one condition, only if I train smart and goal being to finish well. I agreed.
I am literally two weeks away from the race and can’t wait.
Now having been through tri-training here are my recommendations for the best places and service:
1) Jack&Adam’s- all your gear, etc. (pretty much everything)
2)Pedal Hard- technical training on bike ( they are awesome)
3)Zane Castro- one on one coaching
4)Pure Austin- training & swimming
I will keep you all posted as the race gets closer. I have enjoyed cross training. I have gained muscle mass from swimming and biking.
I will say to all of our clients I feel your pain on the table! I got worked on and it is way more intense when you are in training. As Mari was flushing my quads I could feel all the hours spent training on the bike and running! Yikes. Deep tissue is a must during any kind of training.
Marathon, 5k race, cycling, rock climbing, whatever the
sport REGULAR maintenance work is muy importante!
Keeping Austin Active
